Mellomstasjonen – en route to the new National Museum

Mellomstasjonen is the information centre for the new National Museum. Here you can find out more about the construction project and the plans for the new museum.

The building used to be a part of the Vestbanen train station. The Norwegian name “Mellomstasjonen” literally means “the station in between”, indicating that the information centre is a step on the way to the new National Museum.

Our aim is to promote all the visual arts and make Oslo and Norway more visible on the international art scene.
