Delivery normally takes place within 14 days, but new photography usually requires more time. The images are sent as digital files on CD-ROMs or per agreement, and are accompanied by an electronic copy of the reproduction permission. The reproduction permission is issued by the National Museum on the basis of the information provided on the order form and describes the permitted use of the images in question.

We also offer digital images from the architecture database Arkifoto.

Many of the works of art owned by the National Museum are still protected by copyright, meaning that permission to use the images of such works must be obtained from the rights holders and the National Museum. The users themselves are responsible for obtaining the required permission from the creator and other rights holders. For questions or for seeking such permission, please contact the Norwegian Visual Artists Copyright Society (BONO) at bono@bono.no.
