Goddesses. A Reader
Price: NOK 125
This publication is associated with Goddesses, an exhibition at the National Museum in the second half of 2010 which was based on works from the museum’s collection. This was part II of the exhibition Women who move art, which aimed to upend the traditional idea of what female art should be. In addition to classical, feminist issues such as the body, institutional criticism, handicrafts and materials, the exhibition addressed topics such as language, concepts and abstraction. Works by both male and female artists were on display. The publication’s essays primarily originate from a seminar held in connection with the exhibit. Contributors include men, women, artists and art historians alike.
