The City and Blindern. The University of Oslo 200 years
16 September 2011–12 February 2012
The National Museum – Architecture
The exhibition presents the University of Oslo’s architecture throughout 200 years. It discusses the significance of the University’s geographical placement for city planning, with an emphasis on the development of the campus at Blindern from the 1920s to today.
Zoning plans, competition projects, architectural drawings, scale models, photographs, films and furniture that represent the 1930s, the 1960s and more recent times, all contribute to placing the architecture at Blindern in an international context.
The exhibition is a collaboration between the University of Oslo, Statsbygg and the National Museum.
