Opening speech by the Belgian Ambassador, Mr. Frank Arnauts and Director of Collections at Nasjonalmuseet, Stina Högkvist. Belgian refreshments will be served.

About the exhibition

During the last part of the 16th century and throughout the 17th century, diversity flourished in Flemish and Dutch drawing. The subjects in this exhibition range from landscapes and animals to mythological, allegorical and biblical scenes.

The exhibition is based on a generous loan from the rich collection at The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. In addition, a small selection of the National Museum’s own drawings from this period has been included in the exhibition.

You will get a unique opportunity to get close to works that are rarely exhibited.
