Evening concert: Ode to Bergonzi and Gofriller
Tonight’s concert features one of the world’s finest violins.
Made by Carlo Bergonzi in Cremona in 1735, it has been played by, among others, the legendary violinist Fritz Kreisler. The concert concludes with a rare opportunity to hear the instruments in the exhibition’s Gofriller Quartet played together. These instruments from Venice are more dramatic in style than those from Cremona, both visually and acoustically.
