Curator’s tour: Into the Fashion Archive
There are a limited number of spots. Registration for the event is required at the info desk on the same day, and you must have a ticket to the museum in order to participate. The first-come, first-served principle applies.
Join us for a guided tour of the exhibition “Ephemeral Matters. Into the Fashion Archive”, led by guest curator Marco Pecorari.
The exhibition features unique fashion ephemera, including catalogues, invitations, ads and illustrations from the 16th century to the present, from six very different public and private collections, along with relevant objects and documents from the National Museum’s own internal archive. Much of the material has never been exhibited before.
The guided tour offers an introduction to the exhibition. You will be encouraged to open drawers and immerse yourself in more than 800 documents and objects from a range of fashion houses such as Chanel, Balenciaga and Hérmes.
Created in close collaboration with the collectors and guest curator Marco Pecorari, the exhibition builds on Pecorari’s research and in particular his book Fashion Remains. Rethinking Ephemera in the Archive (Bloomsbury 2021).
The tour takes place in the Prints and Drawings Gallery and will be in English. It is free for anyone with a valid ticket to the museum. Please register at the information desk.
