On the occasion of the retrospective exhibition “A K Dolven. amazon”, A K Dolven’s performance piece A Other Teenager will be presented in an expanded, site-specific version tailored to the architecture and outdoor space adjacent to the Light Hall exhibition.

The work activates the outdoor space with a long, horizontal frieze of bodies – a row of people lying side by side – while one woman breaks the pattern and moves slowly across and along the others. Only one of them, a teenager, gazes outward.

The performance brings together many of the characteristics of Dolven’s art – the ability to create intimacy in the monumental, the trust in collective processes, the interpersonal dimension, dialogue with other artistic voices, and not least, the role of time as both material and experience.

For this performance of A Other Teenager, Dolven is joined by two key collaborators who were central to the 2016 version of the work: dancer Tale Dolven and composer and musician Stian Westerhus.

Admission is free for anyone with a valid entrance ticket to the National Museum. Access to the area opens approximately 15 minutes before the performance begins.
