Art 1800s-1900s

On this tour you can hear about folk beliefs and religion, and about a woman who tethered herself to the mast of a ship in the Arctic Ocean so she could scope out pictorial subjects.

You will find stories about well-known artworks by Edvard Munch, Harriet Backer, Harald Sohlberg, and Kitty Kielland, but also about artworks from a time when depictions of nature and landscape were highly favoured.
