Eirik Havnes has been working with field recordings in nature for a long time, and is looking at opportunities to turn such recordings into music.
This piece of music consists exclusively of field recordings from sheep farms in the Sunnmør Alps, Norwegian shepherds calling their sheep, traditional Norwegian sheep calls, as well as recordings from the Portuguese shepherds shown in the exhibition. The recordings are stretched, cut, tuned and put together in a collage-like fabric that stretches from the very concrete sound image on the mountain, into abstraction and back.
