Guidelines for engaging with the National Museum's social media channels
Thank you for engaging with the content we publish, we appreciate it. At the same time, we ask everyone who comment on our content to refrain from personal attacks, hate speech and harassment, and to show respect for others. Comments that violate our guidelines and/or Norwegian law can be removed.
The National Museum supports diversity of opinion and open discussion, but remember that those who read your comments and those with whom you disagree are also people. Focus on the topic at hand.
Use your own name when commenting. Fake profiles, pseudonyms and comments from Facebook and other social media accounts other than your own may be removed.
We ask that you refrain from the following when commenting on the National Museum's online content:
- Harassing comments and personal attacks
- Excessive use of foul language and profanity
- Violating Norwegian law or encouraging others to do so
- Spamming and/or excessive linking to other content
- Off-topic digressions
- Promotional advertisements or links
- Links to fund-raising activities
Remember that you are legally responsible for any content you post online and in social media. If you post a comment that violates legal provisions on defamation, privacy, threats or hate speech, you may be prosecuted, even if we delete the comment.
