A K Dolven is considered one of Norway’s most significant contemporary artists. Time and nature are recurring themes in her art.
"To be a visual artist, for me, means having an idea that is conveyed through a material. And that material can just as easily be film, painting, marble, steel, the mountain, cold, heat… and within all of this, there is one thing I am constantly aware of, and that is time. Time is a material in itself."
In video installations and film projections, paintings and sculpture, as well as photography, sound and text, Dolven addresses the universal through the intimate.
By exploring the sphere between the familiar and the unfamiliar, her work invites new perspectives on the world that surrounds us.
In the current exhibition "A K Dolven. amasone", she invites the audience to undertake the sensory experience of exploring her work within and around the National Museum.
