Welcome to the opening of the exhibition “Louise Bourgeois. Imaginary Conversations”!

“Louise Bourgeois. Imaginary Conversations” features works from the entire career of Bourgeois, from her paintings and prints from the 1940s to the more well-known “cells” she created in the 1990s and 2000s. You can also experience artworks by around fifty other artists, including Edvard Munch, Marie Laurencin, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Arshile Gorky, Louise Nevelson, Senga Nengudi, Alina Szapocznikow, Seni Awa Camara, Nan Goldin, Robert Gober, and Rosemarie Trockel. Many of the works are being shown in Norway for the first time ever. 

The exhibition will be opened by HM Queen Sonja.

The exhibition is a made in collaboration with The Easton Foundation. The exhibition is supported by the DNB Savings Bank Foundation.   

Free tickets will be released 27 April at 9.00. You have to have a ticket to attend the opening.

Please note that we ask all guests to arrive by 18.20.

Programme:

  • 18.00–18.20: 
    Doors open, light refreshments in the Salon on the second floor
  • 18.30–19.00:
    Welcome address by the National Museum’s Director Karin Hindsbo.  
    Speech by the exhibition’s curators Andrea Kroksnes and Briony Fer 
    Official opening by HM Queen Sonja 
  • 19.00–21.00:  
    The exhibition is open for viewing in the Light Hall. Light refreshments will be served in the Salon.
