Narrator:

So this is actually a chair.

Voice:

Wow!

Narrator:

A bit hard to sit on, perhaps?

Voice:

Looks very hard!!

Narrator:

But even so, it’s a chair!

You can use it to sit on, perhaps you might even be able to sleep!

Voice:

Zzzzzzzzzzzz

(Snoring sounds)

Narrator:

You could be gaming, eating, reading… these are all things we do while sitting on chairs.

But is counting something we can do with this chair?

For example, can you count how many edges are painted yellow?

Voice:

(counts quietly from 1…)

How many pieces it’s made from?

How many colours have been used?

(The voice continues to count quietly)

Narrator:

Many people who bought this chair wanted it because they thought it was nice to look at!

Others both looked at it and sat in it, but I'm pretty sure that a lot of people liked to count it.

Every day when they walked past their chair, they might have thought:

20 yellow edges

Voice:

Yes!

Narrator:

15 black pieces!

Voice:

Yes!

Narrator:

One that's red!

And one that's blue!

Voice:

Red and blue!

Narrator:

That's what the chair is called.

Both:

Red and blue!
