A museum is a place where things go to die!
The National Museum's collection contains over 400,000 works from different times and cultures. They are all made by someone, often for someone.
This exhibition shows almost 100 different objects from the collection under the title Don't be afraid. An exhibition about death.
Not all of the objects in the exhibition have death as a theme, but we’ve chosen to show them in order to create new connections between the objects and show them in a completely different way.
On the first and second floors in the museum, the collection is displayed chronologically. Here, the objects are taken out of time to talk about our relationship with death.
In this audio guide you’ll find more information about the themes, the exhibition architecture and the choices we’ve made in the exhibition.
