What happens to our things after we die?
Transcription
In a museum, we store objects for dissemination and research. These objects may come to light to tell a story, separated in time and place from their original purpose.
In the museum, the objects are protected from dangerous factors such as light, humidity and temperature fluctuations so that they don’t deteriorate.
They’re stored in warehouses, in the dark, safe and secure.
What happens to our things after we die?
Are they covered up?
Are they thrown away?
Do they lose their function when you’re gone?
In some cultures, and in some periods of time, people covered mirrors and reflective surfaces, and even rearranged the home to prevent the deceased from becoming attached to objects, and haunting the living.
But, it’s not just the objects that are covered up, it’s also our own feelings and experiences.
What is under the cover?
