My name is Atle Sponberg and I play in the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. I am also the artistic director of the Innland Orchestra, and play also as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster in different places.

What I love about this instrument is the glowing warm sound. The E string is like silk with a lot of overtones. The A and D string has an incredible warmth and the G string real power and depth. And when you think you have given it all, it's like the violin says "please give me more, give me more".

I also noticed while playing in big concert halls, that when I just touch the string, the sound carries. This beautiful instrument also gives a wider pallet of colour to express the music with.
