Practical information for your visit to the National Museum – Architecture

Here you will find information about accessibility and facilities at the museum, and useful tips to make your visit a success.

Visitor regulations

Bags under A4 in size may be brought into the exhibition spaces if controlled by security staff. If you do not wish for the bag to be controlled, or if it is larger than A4 in size, it must be placed in the lockers in the cloakroom. The same applies to umbrellas, selfie sticks and similar objects.
Liquids and food may not be brought into the exhibition spaces. Refreshments can be bought and enjoyed in the café.
You may bring your own stroller into the museum, but not into the exhibition. We recommend that you bring your own baby carrier if needed. Due to security reasons, the contents of bags and strollers may also be checked by security staff.
E-bike batteries may not be brought into the museum due to the fire safety risk of lithium-ion batteries.
Animals, except for guide/service dogs, are not allowed in the museum.

In addition to the main entrance at Bankplassen 3, there is a separate entrance to the café from Myntgata.
There are no parking spaces for visitors with disabilities and motorized vehicles.
Tickets can be purchased upon arrival.
You will find toilets and cloakrooms on ground floor. Please ask a member of staff if you need help.

The National Museum – Architecture is built according to the latest standards of universal design. This means, among other things, that anyone with reduced mobility will be able to enter the universal access entrance from Myntgata, and that service desks, toilets and cloakrooms will be equally accessible to all. There are elevators and step-free access to all parts of the building that are open to the public.
