The National Museum in 2027

Frida Kahlo takes center stage at the National Museum in a year that also features exhibitions on Norwegian nature, crafts and contemporary fashion, as well as mysticism and biodegradable architecture.

Changes in the collection exhibition

The National Museum collection exhibition is always changing. Works are being rotated in and out regularly, and whole rooms are given new themes.

From january 23 in room 30, August Barron, Ramona Salo Myrseth, GmbH and EDDA challenge established conventions and explore new possibilities for fashion.

In room 86 the increasing interest in materiality in contemporary art is explore, with artistst like  Ahmed Umar, Lin Wang and Ragna Bley.

Room 87 continues the effort to give contemporary artists their own presentations, with Marthe Ramm Fortun taking over from Jumana Manna in September 2027.
