The National Museum has an extensive archive of newspaper clippings about Norwegian art, artists, exhibitions, museums, galleries, arts organisations and societies. Best represented is the post-war period through to the present, but the collection also includes material stretching back to the 19th century.

ATEKST is an archive that holds historical journalistic content from more than 100 newspapers, primarily Norwegian, but also some from other Nordic countries. VG is the oldest source, dating back to 1945. The archive also contains material from many Norwegian and foreign internet sources. ATEKST is updated daily, with articles presented in their entirety. The service is available to National Museum staff and visitors to the library.
The National Library of Norway’s historic newspaper collection
The National Library’s newspaper service offers digital access to all newspapers with which the National Library has an agreement – which includes both national and local newspapers. The National Library aims to make the entire historical newspaper collection available and searchable online. The newspaper collection encompasses around 1,600 titles. The number of accessible publications is increasing steadily. The service is available to National Museum staff and to visitors via the computers in the reading room.
Contains most editions of Aftenposten, Aften and A-magasinet from 1860 through to the present. The pages are scanned from the originals. The service is available to visitors via the computers in the reading room.
